A Appian Case Study
Iccrea Cooperative Banking Group is Italy’s largest collective bank, representing 140 community banks with more than 2,600 branches across over 1,700 municipalities and ranking among the top four Italian banking groups. Facing a push to accelerate service delivery, streamline operations and improve customer experience, Iccrea launched a digital transformation to automate key business processes, reduce the complexity and manual work of financial compliance, and create an architectural layer to orchestrate processes across the Group.
Using the Appian low-code platform and Agile methods, Iccrea built applications for credit card fraud management, accounts payable and invoice reconciliation, and lifecycle management of retail, financial and insurance products in line with European POG requirements. The low-code approach enabled rapid delivery—six mission-critical apps in the first six months and 13 banking applications in a year—improving operational efficiency, governance and customer experience across the cooperative network.
