Case Study: SageNet Reduces PCI Scope with Appgate SDP

A Appgate Case Study

Preview of the SageNet Case Study

Sagenet uses SDP to simplify PCI compliance and reduce audit preparation

SageNet, a managed network services provider supporting more than 160,000 locations, needed a way to secure credit card processing environments in multi-tenant colocation data centers while reducing PCI audit scope. The company wanted to improve access control and logging, eliminate shared credentials and jump hosts, and better balance security, compliance, and user access requirements. To meet these goals, SageNet worked with Appgate using Appgate SDP.

With Appgate SDP, SageNet implemented a software-defined perimeter that provided end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication, role- and attribute-based access control, and detailed logging for user activity. Appgate helped SageNet reduce PCI scope by more than 50%, cut the time to collect infrastructure and system information, and shorten onboarding for new customer cardholder data environments from three weeks to two days. The solution also streamlined audits and was packaged as a new revenue-generating service for SageNet.
