Case Study: Large Multinational Bank Stops Malware Fraud Attacks with Appgate Detect Safe Browsing

A Appgate Case Study

Preview of the Large Multinational Bank Case Study

Large Multinational Bank - Customer Case Study

Large Multinational Bank turned to Appgate after discovering a coordinated malware campaign targeting its customers with Zeus Panda and Marcher banking Trojans. The bank needed a way to detect tampered login pages, stop credential theft, and protect both corporate and personal customers across web and mobile channels. Appgate’s Detect Safe Browsing (DSB) Framework, including DSB Clientless, DSB Client, and DSB Mobile, was used to secure the bank’s online platforms and customer devices.

Appgate implemented layered protection that detected injected malicious code, blocked infected sessions, neutralized malware communications, and safeguarded mobile banking transactions and 2FA flows. The solution enabled the bank to quickly identify victims, blacklist malicious apps, and stop the attack campaign from succeeding, making Zeus Panda and Marcher powerless to carry out financial theft. Appgate also removed the associated command-and-control servers from the internet, effectively ending the profitability of the attack.
