How to Increase Organic Installs by 110%

Social Quantum, the video game company behind the long-running city builder Megapolis, wanted to grow beyond paid acquisition and boost organic installs. To improve App Store Optimization, they worked with AppFollow and used its Keyword Research Tool to identify better keywords, while also refreshing the game’s icon and store assets to make the app page more appealing and search-friendly.

With AppFollow’s guidance, Social Quantum tested a new icon, added important keywords like “city building” to the app title, updated metadata across stores, and replaced an outdated preview video with a more dynamic version. The changes drove a major uplift in visibility and performance: keywords in the top 10 doubled on Google Play and tripled on the App Store, and overall Megapolis saw about a 110% increase in organic installs and an 82.7% increase in impression-to-install conversion rate.
