Offline support and geo-mapping for an 11 billion NOK tunnel-building project

The construction company Skanska required a custom digital solution for a major tunnel project, as their outdated blasting operation software lacked API integration, offline support, and critical safety features for workers handling explosives. This prompted them to partner with the vendor Appfarm to develop a new application.

Appfarm created the no-code app 'Spreng', which provided essential offline functionality for data collection deep within tunnels and integrated complex web mapping services with Skanska's proprietary GeoServer. The solution significantly increased project efficiency by eliminating duplicate data entry and, most importantly, greatly enhanced on-site safety measures for workers.
