Case Study: Careium improves healthcare access control security with Appfarm

Digitalizing access control in the healthcare sector

Careium, a global provider of technology for the healthcare sector, faced the challenge of inefficient and insecure physical key management for home care providers visiting patients. They partnered with vendor Appfarm to build an application that would digitalize access control, saving time and increasing security for both caregivers and receivers.

The solution developed by Appfarm consisted of two applications: an admin portal for managing access and a mobile app for caregivers to unlock doors during approved time windows. This eliminated the manual process of distributing physical keys, resulting in significant time savings and enhanced security. The new product, developed by Appfarm partner Voglio, is now a scalable offering used by multiple Norwegian municipalities.
