Major California City, a city of more than 3 million residents, was facing a severe drought and needed a faster, easier way for citizens to report water waste. Appery.io helped the city build a mobile app using its database services, server code, and push notifications, along with GPS and photo capture so residents could quickly submit reports. The app also let users track report status, receive water-use updates, and request home water surveys; a companion employee app was created to review complaints.
