Cisco’s global field sales organization needed a way to get critical content and workflows off desktops and into the hands of sellers in the field. Although Cisco built sales productivity apps (starting with Sales Mobile) to support BYOD, the team lacked a secure, centrally managed distribution system and the usage metrics and governance required for fast, reliable rollouts.

Cisco selected Apperian’s MAM platform to launch a custom-branded enterprise app store, the “AppFridge,” with single sign‑on, targeted app distribution, analytics, rapid beta testing and automated app re‑signing. The store scaled from a 200‑person pilot to over 12,500 users (covering 80%+ of commissionable employees), and more than half of sellers reported up to a 25% productivity gain (20% reported up to 50%), while the mobility team streamlined app lifecycle management and faster time to market.
