MediaInterface Expands to France With Pre-Labeled Datasets

MediaInterface, a healthcare language technology provider, wanted to expand its AI-powered speech recognition solution, SpeaKING, into France. Although the software was fully localized, the company lacked French lexicon data—especially names and places needed for accurate medical documentation—while also needing to meet strict GDPR requirements.

Appen provided pre-labeled datasets to fill these critical gaps, including approximately 21,000 French names and 14,000 place names. With Appen’s data incorporated into its background lexicon, MediaInterface was able to launch in a new market, improve recognition accuracy, and give French customers a more complete, customizable speech recognition experience.
