The World Bank Rolls Out a New Culture of Collaboration Along with a Single, Unified View of its Global Infrastructure

The World Bank, a global development bank made up of five organizations, faced fragmented monitoring across more than 50 tools and separately monitored applications. That lack of unified visibility led to frequent outages, long root-cause investigations, a blizzard of alerts, and a culture of finger‑pointing between teams.

By deploying AppDynamics to about 400 production applications the bank created a single, unified view and a self‑service monitoring model, with alerts routed through PagerDuty. The change stopped the blame game, cut performance problem tickets by 67%, eliminated war‑room scenarios, reduced alert noise, and produced richer metrics for accurate reporting, capacity planning and business‑level KPIs.
