Globe Telecom keeps customers happy with scale and visibility from AppDynamics

Globe Telecom, a leading Philippine carrier serving about 85 million mobile and broadband subscribers, needed better visibility and faster issue detection as it modernized with containers, microservices and a cloud-first strategy—accelerated further by a COVID-driven surge in digital usage. The challenge was to maintain and improve customer experience by reducing time to detect, escalate and remediate application performance problems across web and mobile services.

Globe adopted AppDynamics SaaS on AWS via AWS Marketplace to streamline procurement, gain scalability and consolidate monitoring (APM, real-user and synthetic monitoring, infrastructure and database visibility). The move shortened procurement cycles, delivered cost savings (including a waived SaaS conversion fee and roughly $184,000 in license cost avoidance), and produced measurable operational gains: detection/escalation times fell (about 26% for tier-one and 45% for non–tier-one systems), mean time to repair dropped 24%, and Globe now targets 11 minutes or less for initial response—while improving regional resilience and enabling more proactive incident prediction.
