Charter Communications, the fourth-largest U.S. cable operator with more than six million customers and a fully digital product stack of websites, streaming and mobile apps, faced a constant pressure to improve customer experience while deploying new code daily. Fragmented, “red‑yellow‑green” telemetry and a patchwork of scripts and log analysis made it difficult to rapidly find root causes and proactively detect issues across applications and databases.
By implementing AppDynamics Unified Monitoring (APM, end‑user monitoring for desktop and mobile, and database monitoring) across data center and cloud, roughly 150–200 Charter engineers gained end‑to‑end visibility, transaction snapshots, and shareable analytics. The solution cut mean time to resolution by about half, sped up and de‑risked daily deployments, improved application performance and customer experience, and delivered substantial time savings in troubleshooting.
