Yotpo, a fast-growing platform that helps 200K+ online businesses collect and use customer reviews, photos and Q&A, faced a common challenge: new users were installing the product but getting lost in the admin and not seeing value—especially important as Yotpo rolled out a self-serve plan with no salesperson guidance. Using Appcues (plus Segment and Customer.io for triggered emails), Yotpo launched welcome flows, feature tours and contextual nudges that achieved ~70% onboarding completion and led to big gains: unique new users generating reviews +42%, reviews-tab installs ~300% (star ratings +45%), 1‑week retention +50% and 2‑week retention +60%, active users visiting 2 days/week +30%, and 68% of overdue customers paying after a reminder flow. Those results validated the approach and the team is now coding the most effective flows into the product.
