How Hubspot used Appcues to make its users more successful

HubSpot faced a migration challenge after launching its Content Optimization System (COS): thousands of customers (about 4,500 still on the legacy CMS) needed to move to the improved platform, but migrations required custom work, user review and relearning, and outreach via email produced only a handful of requests. Product marketing needed a faster, less disruptive way to encourage the move without overloading engineering or customer success.

HubSpot used Appcues to run targeted in-product messages visible only to CMS users, building and publishing flows in minutes without developer help and testing different messages. The campaigns boosted migration volume from roughly 70 requests per month via email to an additional 120 migrations per month from Appcues (a 171% increase), saved manual outreach time, and is now used for feature announcements, trial onboarding and other product marketing.
