Lucid is a research-technology platform that provides programmatic access to first‑party survey data for customers like Google, Spotify, Verizon, and HubSpot. Facing the need to keep their product both high-value and easy to adopt, Lucid’s design team wanted to understand how customers navigated the main survey management page—search, filters, pagination, etc.—but accessing detailed product-usage data previously required engineering support.

Using Appcues’ click-to-track and Events Explorer, the team built a report that revealed which navigation mechanisms were actually used: customers overwhelmingly relied on search. That insight prompted plans to simplify the interface by removing underused options and to use Appcues to promote the desired behavior, giving the product team faster, self-serve analytics to make data-driven design decisions.
