TripLingo Helps Business and Leisure Travelers in 5 Countries Speak the Native Language

TripLingo is a mobile language and culture app that helps business and leisure travelers learn travel‑relevant phrases and local customs for five countries. The team needed a fast, low‑cost way to build a polished, user‑tested product that could scale across platforms and languages—without the time and expense of native development.

By building on Appcelerator Titanium and creating a reusable framework, TripLingo rapidly prototyped and iterated its UX, launched five country apps (France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Mexico) and submitted its first app to the App Store in under three months. Development times fell to 60 days for the first app and five days for the second, with about 80% code reuse planned across iPhone and Android as the company scales toward 30+ languages.
