Archrival, a leading youth-focused interactive marketing agency (clients include Lone Star, State Farm, Microsoft, Honda and Red Bull), needed a mobile app for Pabst’s “Lone Star Spirit” campaign to let consumers decode under-the-cap puzzles. The team lacked iPhone development experience, found Apple’s SDK and tooling steep and time-consuming to learn, and preferred not to outsource, so they couldn’t deliver a native app using their existing skill set.

They adopted Appcelerator Titanium, which let them reuse HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build the Lone Star Puzzle Cap Decoder. One developer produced a working app in roughly two weeks (~50 hours), simplifying provisioning and testing, adding iPhone capability to Archrival’s offerings, and delivering high client satisfaction and faster cross-channel integration.
