New Path Center (NPC) is a Kingsburg, California–based nonprofit founded in 2005 by Tony and Bonnie Redfern after their own loss revealed a gap in healthy grief support within the faith community. With specialized training in peacemaking, grief and conflict studies, NPC faced the challenge of meeting diverse emotional and mediation needs in their region despite a small staff and rising demand.

NPC addressed this by offering a broad suite of services—pastoral and grief counseling, training, anger management, conflict coaching, and family, marital and community mediation—anchored by a “no wrong door” policy to ensure people are connected to needed help. The approach expanded NPC’s reach (they managed 81 cases in 2011) and strengthened community access to compassionate transition and conflict support.
