A Aplos Case Study
The City of Leon, a small municipality, was struggling with fund accounting after using QuickBooks, which led to two years of unreconciled bank accounts. This created a significant hurdle for their auditor, April Swartz, CPA, who risked terminating the audit. To resolve this, Swartz referred the city to the vendor Aplos for its fund accounting software and bookkeeping services.
Aplos implemented its Advanced Accounting package, working directly with the city to rebuild their chart of accounts. The Aplos team imported and reallocated two years of financial data, performed all necessary bank reconciliations, and corrected the records. This solution successfully enabled the completed audit, saving the auditor's firm $21,600 and providing the city with a sustainable, understandable fund accounting system.
