A Aplos Case Study
Aplos was called in when auditing CPA April Swartz encountered a small Kansas city using QuickBooks with two years of unreconciled bank accounts and unclear fund cash balances — issues that threatened to derail the audit and could have cost the firm $21,600. The City of Leon needed affordable fund-accounting expertise to rework its chart of accounts, allocate two years of transactions, and produce reliable financials for the audit.
Aplos migrated the QuickBooks data into its Advanced Accounting system, rebuilt the chart of accounts, completed two years of bank reconciliations, and reallocated transactions to the correct funds with city staff involvement. The result: accurate, auditable fund balances, a completed audit, thousands saved in potential costs, and an ongoing, user-friendly fund accounting system that Swartz now recommends to clients.
