Regione del Veneto, Italy’s fifth-largest region serving 5 million citizens, needed to modernize its fragmented municipal and healthcare IT environment. With support from Apigee and other Google Cloud tools, the region sought to replace separate on-premises systems across 13 health departments, improve collaboration for 85,000 employees, and build a more connected digital service model.

Apigee helped Regione del Veneto automate the collection of GP appointment data across 4,000 doctors, enabling secure, anonymized data exchange without extra manual work. Alongside the broader Google Cloud and Workspace rollout, the region reduced travel by 60% and cut healthcare operational costs by 90%, while improving service oversight, remuneration accuracy, and access to citizen services.
