Telia Company Reaching New Heights in Digitization with Apigee

Telia Company, the Stockholm-based telecom provider, needed a more sustainable API strategy to move beyond point-to-point integrations and an enterprise service bus. With Apigee, the company sought to decouple back-end and consumer services, create common interfaces across regions, and improve customer, partner, and organizational agility.

Using the Apigee API management platform, Telia Company launched and scaled its API program, including the Telia Zone service for connected home experiences. The results were significant: Telia Company expanded to around 50 exposed APIs and grew from nearly zero calls to 34 million API calls per month, while Telia Zone reached about 900,000 households in Sweden and is expanding to other countries.
