Tieto, a leading Nordic software and services company, needed a flexible way to connect its lending and leasing platform with third-party services so retail banks could offer more customized digital services and keep pace with fintech competition. To support its open banking API hub, Tieto chose Apigee API management as a mid-layer between its platform and external integrations.

Apigee helped Tieto provide developers with an easier way to find, consume, and monitor APIs while supporting both cloud and on-premises deployments. The solution now serves about 120 customers using 20 to 50 APIs each, improves traffic visibility and security, and lays the groundwork for API monetization and regulatory compliance, including European open banking requirements.
