Guidion, a Dutch field service management company, needed a better way to manage partner-specific integrations for its solar panel and broadband installation services while keeping its existing APIs and Salesforce-based backend intact. The challenge was to support different communication requirements from large enterprise partners without rebuilding legacy systems or creating slow, resource-heavy custom work.
Guidion used Apigee to provide a standard API management layer with SOAP-to-REST translation, a developer portal, pass-through endpoints, and built-in security, monitoring, analytics, and debugging. With Apigee, partner onboarding moved from IT to the business team, enabling self-service setup in real time and cutting the effort to implement partner-specific requirements roughly in half, while supporting timely service delivery to about seven customers every minute.
