Pizza Hut, the global quick-serve restaurant chain, needed to modernize its ecommerce infrastructure so it could deliver fast, reliable digital ordering experiences across web, mobile, and chat channels. Working with Apigee and Google Cloud Platform tools, including Google Kubernetes Engine and APIs, Pizza Hut aimed to improve agility, scale for traffic spikes, and speed up customer order response times.

Apigee helped Pizza Hut support a microservices-based architecture and better manage public APIs as part of its digital transformation. By moving key processes into asynchronous workflows and using cloud-native scaling and monitoring, Pizza Hut cut average API response time by 10x, rapidly doubled Kubernetes nodes during peak demand, and improved visibility into performance bottlenecks.
