Orange España, part of the Orange telecom group, needed a better way to manage and expose APIs to developers, partners, and customers as it drove its digital transformation. After using a basic gateway for years, it looked for a more complete API management platform and chose Apigee to improve API deployment, partner access, and support for telecom services.

With Apigee, Orange España implemented a developer portal, automated API publishing, and a continuous integration pipeline to speed delivery and standardize APIs. The results included reducing API publication from days to minutes, serving about 30 million requests per day, and reaching 90% compliance with TM Forum telco API standards. Orange España also reported that 50 partners now consume around 100 APIs through the portal, while Apigee helped reduce costs and strengthen its open API ecosystem.
