Activision, a leading developer and publisher best known for Call of Duty, faced a critical challenge: launch weeks drive millions of players to their systems and any performance issues or downtime on day one can permanently damage player retention. With tight release timelines and limited QA resources, Activision needed to validate that their architecture would scale, expose concurrency problems, and ensure failover and monitoring were effective under peak load.

Apica partnered with Activision to provide Apica Loadtest and a custom SDLC testing platform, integrating load testing into pre‑production and the development lifecycle while leveraging AWS for dynamic scaling. Apica simulated millions of users, uncovered bottlenecks and concurrency issues, informed capacity planning, defined machine sizing and elasticity rules, and validated failover and alerting—enabling Activision to handle the enormous launch‑day traffic and protect player experience.
