Case Study: NHS Blood and Transplant improves efficiency and saves time with Apadmi’s DonorPath app

A Apadmi Case Study

Preview of the NHS Blood and Transplant Case Study

Fuelling the digital transformation of the NHS with a life-saving mobile solution

Apadmi worked with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), helping the organization modernize a time-critical process for Specialist Nurses. Their existing paper-based workflow created heavy admin overhead, duplicated data entry, and took valuable time away from supporting patient families during organ retrieval.

Apadmi developed DonorPath, a tablet-based mobile app that digitised paperwork, captured more than 600 data points per patient, and integrated with NHS back-office systems to remove duplication and reduce errors. The result was live rollout in over 260 UK hospitals, more than 18,000 form submissions a year, 766 duplicated nurse hours saved, and 132,000 A4 sheets of paper saved annually.
