Connecting BT customers to millions of UK Wi-Fi hotspots, regardless of their device

BT wanted to make its public Wi‑Fi service more accessible to customers on the move, and approached Apadmi in 2011 to build an easy-to-use Wi‑Fi app with intuitive navigation and UI that would work across a range of devices and platforms. The goal was to help more people find and connect to BT Wi‑Fi hotspots quickly and reliably, regardless of their device.

Apadmi developed multi-platform BT Wi‑Fi apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows, using a layered mapping system to show nearby hotspots and enable fast automatic log-in. The result was a successful launch that led BT to return in 2012 for a refresh, with the apps ultimately surpassing 1 million downloads and helping customers access BT’s 5 million+ UK Wi‑Fi hotspots more easily.
