The customer, intu, sought to enhance leisure activities within its shopping centers by exploring innovative technologies. They partnered with the vendor, Apache, to implement a virtual reality experience aimed at increasing customer engagement.

Apache developed a bespoke interactive VR game using the HTC Vive system and installed it in a dedicated log cabin at the intu Victoria Centre. This first-of-its-kind retail VR installation allowed shoppers to step into a winter wonderland, decorate a Christmas tree, and share their creations online. According to the client, Apache's solution was successful in creating a moment of surprise and delight for customers, which was anticipated to increase dwell time and the propensity for shoppers to revisit the center.
