KPN brings paintings of the famous Rijksmuseum Amsterdam to life via digital signage

KPN partnered with the Rijksmuseum to celebrate the museum’s 2013 reopening by making art more accessible to commuters. The challenge was to create an engaging, interactive digital out‑of‑home experience in train stations that would animate paintings, invite public participation, enable social sharing, and reliably run across multiple displays.

CS Digital Media implemented interactive digital displays powered by AOPEN Digital Engines that brought paintings to life, let visitors take and upload “Rijksselfies,” and tracked viewer behavior. The network was monitored 24/7 with a 100% incident resolution rate, and the week‑long campaign generated 5,740 #Rijksselfies and strong audience engagement.
