Alexandrium Shopping Center - Customer Case Study

Alexandrium Woonmall in Rotterdam, one of the Netherlands’ largest indoor shopping centers, refurbished its home decoration and interior design section and faced the challenge of helping visitors navigate a large, multi-store environment while modernizing the customer experience. System integrator PresTop Products implemented an interactive wayfinding and digital signage project using AOPEN Digital Engine media players, launched mid-2011 and unveiled with the renovated mall in December 2011.

The solution installed touch kiosks, multiple 42" touchscreens including a double-sided Touch Totem, and nine strategically placed digital displays for advertising and information. Visitors get animated route guidance, category searches and QR codes to save store details, while mall operators run dynamic promotions and full-motion ads via a central management system—improving wayfinding, increasing shopper engagement and giving retailers a flexible promotional channel and new ad revenue opportunities.
