RTL Deutschland cuts Deezer startup time from 20 seconds to 1 with AOE GmbH

The streaming service RTL+, part of RTL Deutschland, faced the challenge of developing a high-performance, multi-purpose app for the limited hardware of the MagentaTV set-top box. The project required unifying TV, music, and podcast services into a single application while managing complex communication across numerous internal and external development teams and partners.

AOE was chosen as a development partner to address this. Their solution involved forming an agile, interdisciplinary team using the SAFe framework, designating "Team Ambassadors" to streamline communication, and applying deep React expertise for performance optimization. This resulted in a successfully launched app with enhanced user experience, exemplified by reducing Deezer audio streaming start time from 20 seconds to about 1 second, fixing memory leaks, and lowering cloud costs through build optimizations.
