Decisiones Logísticas, a leading Colombian supply chain consultancy, needed to redesign the distribution network for a major home goods distributor serving 4,500 customers nationwide. The challenge was to optimize distribution center allocation across Colombia’s complex geography while balancing service levels, transport constraints, and commercial limitations. They used anyLogistix for supply chain network design and optimization.

Using anyLogistix, Decisiones Logísticas conducted a greenfield analysis to identify 40 potential DC sites and then ran network optimization scenarios covering inventory policies, carrying costs, DC costs, and outbound transport costs. The solution recommended opening 19 distribution centers, reducing transportation and logistics costs while maintaining service quality and creating a scalable, flexible network tailored to Colombia’s market conditions.
