Case Study: Wolf GmbH achieves 5–10% distribution cost savings and ~35% reduced driving distance with AnyLogistix

A anyLogistix Case Study

Preview of the Wolf GmbH Case Study

Strategic network design to reduce supply chain costs and CO2 emissions

Wolf GmbH, a Mainburg-based provider of heating, ventilation and solar technology (≈2,100 employees, ~€500M revenue in 2022), engaged Rothbaum Consulting to develop a new strategic distribution concept for Europe with a focus on the DACH region. To assess options and quantify savings, Rothbaum used the anyLogistix ALX model/digital twin in the strategic and tactical network design work packages to run Greenfield analyses, cluster customers, and evaluate transport and handling cost functions.

Using anyLogistix, the project team modeled shipment-size clusters, forwarder price curves, inbound supplier flows (BOMs), and facility/processing costs to compare scenarios with up to four new DCs. The anyLogistix-driven analysis identified one new DC in Germany as the optimal solution, delivering estimated savings of 5–10% versus the baseline and reducing total driving distance by roughly 35%, while showing diminishing returns and added complexity for three-location solutions.
