GE Manufacturing Plant Uses AnyLogic for Real Time Decision Support

GE opened a new battery manufacturing plant to support its Durathon energy storage business, but the ramp-up brought major challenges in increasing throughput and yield while controlling manufacturing costs. With more than 27,000 variables tracked daily, GE needed a better way to analyze plant-wide operations, test options, and make real-time decisions; it turned to AnyLogic simulation software for support.

GE used AnyLogic’s agent-based, multimethod simulation modeling to build a full plant model for capacity planning, bottleneck analysis, production ramp-up, and real-time operational decision support. The solution helped GE run what-if scenarios to answer staffing and production questions quickly and accurately, improving visibility into day-to-day operations, increasing production throughput, and reducing manufacturing costs.
