Scheduling for Underground Mining and Construction Projects Using Simulation Modeling Software

IBCON, a capital construction project management company, needed a more reliable way to schedule complex underground mining and tunneling projects. Traditional Gantt charts could not account for breakdowns, delays, resource conflicts, or changing conditions, so plans often became inaccurate and hard to manage. Using AnyLogic, IBCON built a detailed ore mine simulation that modeled equipment behavior, resource competition, disruptions, and process interdependencies to test schedules before execution. The solution produced monthly plans, cyclograms, and Gantt charts, and allowed scenario re-runs as conditions changed.
