Automatic generation of simulation models using process templates

AIG faced a challenge common to many organizations: discrete-event simulation was complex and required specialized training, making it hard for non-experts to use effectively. To simplify this, AIG developed its Process Wind Tunnel (PWT) methodology, using AnyLogic as the simulation platform for data-driven business process analysis and model building.

Using AnyLogic, AIG created a template-based approach that let business users enter understandable process information in Excel, which could then be transformed into simulation models automatically. This reduced the need to rebuild models for each process, enabled scalable scenario analysis and optimization, and made results easier for business stakeholders to interpret.
