Developing a Warehouse Traffic Management Plan for Internal Logistics

Noorjax Consulting helped a major British logistics company with global operations solve a warehouse traffic management challenge caused by overcrowded transport areas, multiple activities sharing the same roadway, and resulting order delays. Using AnyLogic software, Noorjax set out to model the warehouse’s internal logistics more accurately than Excel or other simulation tools could.

Noorjax Consulting used AnyLogic agent-based modeling and the Material Handling Library to build a detailed traffic simulation with custom collision detection and realistic movement rules, then combined the results with Power BI for analysis. The simulation exposed severe congestion and poor equipment allocation, leading the client to overhaul the warehouse layout, reconfigure its fleet, and renegotiate supplier contracts, which improved operational efficiency and smoothened order fulfillment.
