Transportation Provider Carries Out Warehouses’ Layout Optimization with Simulation Software

Delovye Linii, one of Russia’s largest carriers, needed to improve warehouse efficiency and increase goods rotation as shipment volumes and warehouse space kept growing. To address these challenges, Delovye Linii worked with AnyLogic and used AnyLogic simulation software to analyze and optimize logistics processes at its largest distribution centers.

AnyLogic helped Delovye Linii model different warehouse layouts in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, test scenarios digitally, and select the optimal configurations without disrupting operations. The changes reduced empty running and cut goods handling costs by 10% in St. Petersburg, while in Novosibirsk they increased loader productivity by 10% and improved dispatch speed, warehouse efficiency, and cargo rotation.
