A AnyLogic Case Study
Moscow State University (MSU), working with AnyLogic simulation software, set out to forecast Russia’s social and economic development over the next 50 years and gain experience building large-scale population dynamics models. The challenge was to simulate complex factors such as regional population change, GDP, investment, and innovation trends on supercomputer infrastructure.
AnyLogic enabled the creation of a model using about 100 million agents, and the simulation was successfully run on supercomputers including Lomonosov, MVS-100K, and Chebishev. The model could execute in just 16 seconds on 1,000 processors, helping MSU achieve its goal of supercomputer model conversion and delivering forecasts that suggested population decline in northern, Siberian, and Far East regions, alongside GDP growth.
