Developing a Logistics Digital Twin for a Parcel Distribution Network in Mexico

Estafeta, one of Mexico’s top parcel delivery companies, was moving 6–8 million parcels per month across 130 facilities and needed a clearer way to understand network limits before making major capital investments. Using AnyLogic, Estafeta and its consulting partner VP Consulting built a logistics digital twin of the parcel distribution network to reveal how aircraft, trucks, hubs, and sorting operations interacted in real time.

AnyLogic’s simulation-based digital twin helped Estafeta spot hidden process clashes and bottlenecks by analyzing operations minute by minute. The result was roughly a 21% increase in network throughput, better coordination without new spending, and a two-year delay of a planned $25M investment while the company continued to grow profitably.
