Exploration of Satisficing Behaviors in a Complex Financial Economy

A research project presented by **Large Financial Company** at the AnyLogic 2021 Conference explored gaps in economic analysis and simulation by modeling satisficing behavior in financial cycles. Using **AnyLogic**, the team set out to better understand decision-making under uncertainty in a complex financial system.

**AnyLogic** was used to build an agent-based model incorporating expectations, satisficing, and prospect theory, with multiple agent types and policy scenarios. The simulation covered 26 conditions and 78 options, helping reveal that rational expectations were not viable, stricter policy improved stability, liquidity increased volatility, and psychological behavior often mattered more than fundamentals.
