Transportation Optimization with AnyLogic Software for International Truck Manufacturer

International Truck Manufacturer, the largest CIS manufacturer of heavy trucks, wanted to evaluate whether its swap body container shipment technology was more efficient than conventional delivery modes. To do that, the company turned to AnyLogic transport optimization software to simulate intracity and intercity transport flows, tractor usage, container handling, and route planning across its supply network.

AnyLogic built simulation models that tested delivery scenarios, tracked operational constraints, and compared performance before and after adopting swap body delivery. The results were significant: intracity shipment costs fell by nine times, 70 trucks were replaced by 16 tractors, 13 demountable swap bodies, and 80 trailers, and all deliveries fit within one shift; for intercity shipping, tractors were reduced from 116 to 46, delivery time dropped from 5 days to 1.8 working days, and monthly transportation costs decreased by 37%.
