A AnyLogic Case Study
The Port of Long Beach needed confidence that a major investment in its Pier B rail yard would truly meet future demand, but earlier models had not produced reliable answers. Working with AnyLogic simulation software, the port sought a clearer way to test design options and prove the new rail facility could handle growth.
AnyLogic helped TranSystems build a detailed, operations-level simulation of the port’s rail system, including real-world constraints and train movements. The model confirmed the yard could support future growth, helped stakeholders agree on a final design, narrowed the viable concepts, and was later reused for environmental and air quality analysis.
