A AnyLogic Case Study
ITE Consult, a business planning and simulation specialist, needed to help a client optimize its long-term Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and better balance supply and demand. To do this, ITE Consult used a SaaS platform built on SAP Analytics Cloud with AnyLogic simulation software and Gurobi optimization, enabling the client to run what-if scenarios, demand forecasts, and supply planning analyses more effectively.
Using an application-to-application integration between AnyLogic and SAP, ITE Consult created a flexible planning solution that connected historical and external data to simulation and optimization models. The result was improved inventory, capacity, and labor planning, with an estimated $4 million saved on inventory over 6–8 months. The project also improved forecast quality, with Mean Absolute Percent Error and Bias trending downward, while providing better projections for equipment, labor, and material requirements.
