RPM eco, which manages recycling of contaminated plastic hydrocarbon, pesticide, and fertilizer containers across Canada, faced challenges with static pickup routes, fixed service intervals, and limited visibility for drivers and coordinators. Working with AnyLogic and SimWell’s simulation expertise, the company wanted to improve reverse logistics, increase service levels, and collect more material per trip using AnyLogic simulation software.

AnyLogic helped enable SimWell’s end-to-end OSCAL solution, combining predictive analytics, an agent-based route simulation, and a mobile app tied to Azure, Power BI, and Power Apps. As a result, RPM eco improved real-time route management and decision-making, increased total collected weight by 20% and average weight per pickup by 52%, and reduced empty pickups by 81%.
