Lean Business Services, a healthcare services and development company in Saudi Arabia, faced overcrowding in hospital emergency departments that led to longer patient stays, higher inpatient waiting times, more complications, and lower care quality. To address the challenge, the team used AnyLogic to build a simulation model of emergency room patient flow and resource utilization, allowing them to test different scenarios without disrupting real operations.

Using AnyLogic’s discrete-event simulation, Lean Business Services analyzed historical medical data, modeled ER blueprints, and ran what-if scenarios across six ER categories. The solution helped identify capacity limits and root causes of congestion, reduce patient waiting time, and improve staff allocation, giving managers a clearer way to evaluate changes before implementation.
