Using Predictive Modeling in Healthcare for Simulation of Clinical Trials

Pfizer needed a way to evaluate a new treatment for painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy without launching full-scale clinical trials. Using AnyLogic simulation software, Pfizer worked with Fair Dynamics to create a predictive modeling platform that could analyze existing clinical data, forecast patient responses, and determine the right dosage. The solution also had to be flexible and easy for non-technical users to operate.

AnyLogic helped power a platform that combined agent-based modeling, machine learning–based patient clustering, and parallel simulation of treatment scenarios. The model simulated 4–6 weeks of treatment for each patient profile, enabled personalized dosage recommendations, supported multi-patient analysis, and delivered an intuitive decision-support tool for researchers and doctors.
