PETRONAS, Malaysia’s leading oil and gas company, faced major supply chain challenges across refineries and depots, including delivery delays, uncertain vessel routing, tank capacity constraints, and slow manual planning. To improve oil and gas logistics, PETRONAS turned to AnyLogic simulation software to better understand bottlenecks and validate its supply chain plans.

Using AnyLogic, PETRONAS built a simulation model connected to Excel data, a web app, and automated daily email updates to test scenarios and flag risks. The solution cut planning time from hours to seconds, improved team coordination, and used Monte Carlo testing to identify issues like tank tops earlier, reducing risk and helping PETRONAS make faster, more informed logistics decisions with AnyLogic.
